Before you call
Two things make the conversation much shorter, and neither takes any preparation:
- The property address, so we can see what we're dealing with
- What the report is for — this decides which valuation you actually need
Not sure which report you need? Start here — or just call and we'll work it out with you.

Melbourne is our home office
Melbourne Property Valuations is a division of Asset Valuations Group, independent valuers operating across Australia and New Zealand. If your matter involves property outside Victoria, we can handle it through the group rather than hand you to a stranger.

What happens after you get in touch
We reply to every enquiry with three things: which valuation type actually suits your situation, a fixed price, and the earliest date we can inspect. That comes back within 24 hours on business days, and there is no cost or obligation attached to it.
If the purpose is unclear — and it often is, particularly with tax and legal matters — we will ask a couple of questions before quoting rather than sell you the most expensive report. A valuation prepared for the wrong purpose is one you pay for twice.
Once you accept the quote we arrange access with whoever holds the keys. That does not have to be you: a tenant, agent or family member is fine, and desktop and curbside valuations need no access at all. Standard reports are completed within three to five business days of inspection, and we offer expedited service when a court date or settlement deadline requires it.
Useful to have ready
- The council rates notice
- A floor plan or plan of subdivision
- Details and costs of any recent renovation, with permits where relevant
- The contract of sale or lease agreement, if there is one
- Any deadline you are working to
None of these are essential. Each one sharpens the result and can shorten the turnaround.
Where we work
We value property throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria — inner-city apartments through to farms in Gippsland and the Macedon Ranges. If your suburb isn't listed on our locations page, we still cover it.
